Voting For the Broads Awards
The Broads Awards were the brainchild of Two NBN members Sue "TudorRose" Hancock and Pete "PeteMarr" Marr, The Idea was to create an award to recognise the contribution that businesses make in the Broadland area. Without a lot of these businesses the area would soon lose some of it's attraction as one of the best kept secret holiday destinations in the UK .
The Broads area receives over 1 million visitors a year at least half of which stay in the area. Approximately 100.000 people are employed in the region as a direct result of tourism leading to over £2m in turnover in the year 2007. Therefore it is vital to maintain the quality and service that is provided. The awards are here to help promote those businesses that provide consistent good service and the awards are displayed with great pride by the recipients.
Voting for the inaugural awards in 2008 was conducted by members of The NBN forum. In 2009 TheNorfolkBroads.org (NBO) took the helm and now organise the nominations, voting and awards ceremony. The NBO combines a website giving information about Broadland and a Forum for people interested in chatting (sometimes about the Broads!)
Anybody may Nominate or vote for the business they think deserves an award. If you wish to, then all you need to do is join the NBO! It's totally free at

How It Works
Anybody who has registered as a member on NBO can nominate a business for one of the awards, Nominations are then counted and the top three nominated business's are put forward for voting. NBO members then vote for the final winner, simple as that really!
The Categories have been subject to change since 2008 as a result of feedback from both forum members and businesses involved. Nominations can only be made for businesses that are Riverside or close to (with the exception of Family attraction)
